Sierra Nativo is a captivating Pale Ale that pays homage to the New Mexico brewing scene and highlights the flavors of the region. The use of Columbus hops for bittering ensures a solid and well-balanced foundation of bitterness.
For the aroma hops, the combination of Cascade and Zappa hops adds a delightful twist to the beer. Cascade hops, known for their floral, citrusy, and slightly spicy characteristics, contribute classic American hop flavors to the aroma profile. Zappa hops, being one of the few Neomexicanus hops in larger production, brings a unique and exciting element to the beer. With its distinct flavors, Zappa hops can introduce intriguing notes of tropical fruit, pine, and even hints of mint or black pepper.
The malt bill of 15% Munich and 7.5% Weyermann Carahell provides a solid backbone to the beer. Munich malt adds a touch of toasty richness and depth, while Carahell adds a subtle sweetness and contributes to the beer’s light copper color. These malts work together to create a balanced malt character that allows the hop flavors to shine through.
With an ABV of 5.05%, which coincidentally matches our area code, Sierra Nativo holds a special local significance, making it even more memorable and meaningful.

The Oktoberfest in Munich always begins in September) We at Turtle Mountain have historically shown some restraint. We’ve never released an Oktürtlefest in July like some breweries.
