TM South Fixer-Upper Closure Week – From Nico’s Desk
Mon.Apr.20th through Mon.Apr.27th
This is a friendly reminder that Turtle South will be closed! The 905 36th Place building is coming up on its 20th birthday, and needs a week of TLC to get it ready for the next 20 years.
All of you who make a Turtle visit part of your weekly routine need to get in here by this Sunday for your Turtle fix. Turtle North will be open regular hours during that week, so if you haven’t visited our Enchanted Hills location then this is a perfect opportunity to do so.
What will we be doing during the closure?
- Adding 5 more taps to the 13 we currently have, ensuring that Turtle South will be able to pour all of the delicious beers coming out of our newly-expanded brewery.
- Renovating the Banquet Room: repainting the walls and ceiling, new tables and chairs, adding 3 more TVs and refinishing the floor to match that in the rest of the restaurant.
- Cleaning, updating and reorganizing the wall hangings as well as touching up paint around the restaurant.
- The 2 biggest projects, and the main reason that we have to completely close the restaurant down, are behind the scenes. We are replacing sheet rock and installing paneling in the beer cooler in addition to expanding our tap lines to 18. We are also installing a new floor in the entire kitchen area as well as new paneling throughout. Both of these areas are out of the public view, but are critical to the efficient operation of Turtle Mountain.
In other exciting renovation news: Our new BBQ pit is on order, with an expected install date in the fall! Once we have some sample menus available I will let everyone know.
Between the brewery expansion and this major repair project, I will be investing a significant amount of money to prepare Turtle Mountain for the next 27 years and provide all of our customers with a better overall experience. Pizza and beer is great. Pizza, BBQ and beer is even better!
