From Nico’s Desk 5/14/21

Attention Turtle Mountain Patrons:

I’m sure that many of you are aware that today, Friday, May 14th, Governor Lujan-Grisham adopted the CDC guidance exempting fully-vaccinated individuals from wearing masks in both indoor and outdoor settings. Individuals are considered fully-vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks after the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The State of NM fully supports businesses and workplaces that may continue to require masks for employees and/or customers on the premises, regardless of vaccination status. Because of the host of issues related to verifying an individual’s vaccination status, Turtle Mountain is keeping in place our policy of requiring mask usage for all employees and all patrons who are not sitting at a table actively eating and drinking.

Until the Governor stops using the Red to Turquoise Framework, we are still subject to the requirements of the Turquoise Level, which requires “in all instances, tables must be spaced at least 6 feet apart, no more than 6 patrons may be seated at any single table, patrons must be seated in order to be served food or drink unless ordering food for takeout, and no bar or counter seating is permitted.”

While we welcome parties larger than 6 people into Turtle Mountain, please understand that due to the above requirement, no more than 6 members of any one party can sit a table together, and it is impossible for us to guarantee that parties larger than 6 people can be seated at tables anywhere near each other.

We appreciate your understanding as we do our best to navigate the every-changing requirements placed on us by the Governor and the NMDOH.

Nico Ortiz, Proprietor.
