Schwarzbier, German literally meaning “black beer” is a dark German style lager which looks quite dark but drinks rather light in flavor. Aromas of roast and chocolate are subdued and a pleasant grain sweetness is delicately balanced by heirloom hops. We took a whimsical twist on the classic style by adding more than 120 lbs of fresh black currant berry puree to our beer after fermentation subsided. The flavors compliment wonderfully to produce a fantastic and unique pint.
